The Anti-Coup Alliance, a coalition of parties supporting the return of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, said it would "continue peaceful protests with revolutionary rage week". In a statement issued by the alliance, it accused the interim government of "brutal practices against the poorest segments of Egyptian society igniting the revolution in every home." The group also called for the "execution of the murderers", accusing authorities of issuing "illegal decisions" and "heinous terror crimes", adding that security forces had mistreated and sexually assaulted female protesters. The group also condemned the arrest of former prime minister Hisham Qandil and the decision by the interim government to classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation, saying it was an "illegal decision" that was "issued by a gang of cold-blooded murderers." The ongoing security crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters is expected following the cabinet's decision to name it a terrorist group. On Thursday the Ministry of Interior announced that it had ceased allowing the printing and distribution of the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party newspaper in compliance with the cabinet decision. State media announced on Thursday that Egyptian prosecutors had ordered the arrest of at least 18 Muslim Brotherhood members on accusations of belonging to a terrorist group.
