Minister of Interior thanks Al-Sisi for ‘responding to will of the people'
Published in Daily News Egypt on 28 - 07 - 2013

Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim thanked the Egyptian people for granting the army and police "popular legitimacy" to confront attempts to "destabilise the country" through terrorist and criminal acts during a Sunday speech.
The interior minister, who was first appointed by ousted president Mohamed Morsi and retained his post in the interim government, addressed police cadets at their graduation ceremony on Sunday at the Police Academy.
"I would like to assure the loyal Egyptian people that the police are firmly determined to achieve security and stability of the country," said Ibrahim.
He also commended Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi, who attended the ceremony, for "responding to the popular will of Egyptians" when ousting former President Mohamed Morsi.
The minister called on the graduates to "always stand by the people."
"Thirty June has proven to all Egyptians and the whole world the size and amount of pressure that the police bear and the treacherous threats that challenge it," said Ibrahim in his address.
"The Ministry of the Interior insists that it continues to meet the call of Egyptians and consolidate its role in work to maintain the security of Egypt with the continued support provided by the armed forces," he added, saying such efforts would come in the "framework of professionalism, police creed, and according to the guidelines of the law."
The graduation was attended by Minister of Defence Al-Sisi, interim prime minister Hazem El-Beblawi, and interim president Adly Mansour.
