No meetings between military and Muslim Brotherhood: FJP spokesperson
Published in Daily News Egypt on 15 - 07 - 2013

There have been no meetings between the Muslim Brotherhood or the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) and the army, FJP Spokesman Mohamed Soudan said on Monday.
Soudan stated that the army has tried to contact Mohamed Ali Bishr, a Brotherhood official, and Essam Al-Erian, vice president of the FJP, but that the Brotherhood's condition is that Morsi is reinstated before negotiating.
According to state-run Al-Ahram, Brotherhood Spokesman Gehad El-Haddad also confirmed that there have been no negotiations between the army and Brotherhood leaders.
On his official Facebook page, the military spokesman on Sunday denied any communication between the army and the leaders of the Brotherhood, stating that if any communication were to occur between them it would be publicly announced.
The military added that these sorts of statements are being made in an attempt to create problems between the people and the army in order to "achieve goals of certain political groups and raise the morale of their supporters." The spokesman also claimed that these statements are all part of a "campaign of lies".
Bishr and Gamal Heshmat, another Brotherhood official, said they met with army officials on Thursday and Friday, according to media sources including the Guardian, which reported that Heshmat said that the military told him to clear the streets before further negotiations.
Al-Erian denied that this meeting took place on his official Facebook page: "Even the Guardian lies! Dr. Mohamed Ali Bishr did not meet with any army generals or leaders after the military coup despite General Assar's insistence and placement of prominent, respectable people as intermediaries. No leaders from the Freedom and Justice Party or Muslim Brotherhood will meet with military coup leaders, ever."
Military Spokesman Ahmed Ali said that Brotherhood leader Saad El-Hosiny gave a speech in Rabaa Al-Adaweya on Sunday night saying that the military spokesman is right, that the Brotherhood never met with anyone from army.
