Sony Xperia Z launches in Egypt
Published in Daily News Egypt on 10 - 04 - 2013

Sony Mobile revealed its new Xperia Z smartphone during an event held on Monday in Cairo.
Younes Sharkawy, marketing manager for Africa at Sony Mobile, said that the Xperia Z was designed to provide “the best smartphone experience ever, by transferring television engineers' experiences to our mobile screens, thus giving users the best quality and an experience rich with innovative options and services never offered by any smartphone before, as it uses an advanced technology provided by the Sony group for multimedia".
He added that the phone was in high demand after its initial launch at the CES exhibition in Las Vegas, noting that it will be enabled with NFC technology for wireless communication with other Sony products as well as other new applications.
The Xperia Z boasts a large touch screen, a five-inch full HD Reality Display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, augmented with a Mobile Bravia Engine which automatically enhances the quality of the picture to make it brighter and purer, and to provide colour contrast and management, in addition to an S4 Pro quadra-core processor.
Xperia Z also has an Exmor RS sensor, the first sensor enabled with HDR video technology for smartphones, and a 13 megapixel fast-shooting camera that films videos and take pictures in different lighting conditions.
The mobile battery is enabled with Battery Stamina status that allows better battery management and enables the phone's idle status to perform more effectively, as the phone recognises when the screen is not being used, shuts down any applications that drain the battery and restarts them once the screen is back on.
Xperia Z users can share pictures and music saved on the smartphone with no need for wires.
The one-touch reflection option with NFC technology available on the Xperia Z allows viewing all content on the phone easily on the television.
Although the phone's thickness does not exceed 7.9mm, it is highly resistant to water and dust, and is strong enough to withstand different weather conditions.
It also has a smooth glass cover on the front and the back.
The phone comes in black, purple and white and operates on the Android 4.1 operating system. It will soon be upgraded to Android 4.2.
Consumers in Egypt can purchase the phone via its distributors, Delta and Rezkalla.
