By Nasser El Azazy Part of a security building used by the Egypian armed forces in Rafah was destroyed by an explosive device on Saturday night. There were no injuries as a result of the explosion but it led to the collapse of part of the wall around the building. The building is close to the Rafah central hospital in the Safa neighbourhood. Residents nearby reported that they heard a huge thud as a result of the blast and found parts of the building and the wall blown up. A security source said the preliminary investigations of the explosion revealed the presence of an explosive device which was planted in the vicinity of the wall and the building. The attack on the security building is another of many incidents targeting security forces in the North Sinai governorate. Attacks on police and military apparatus have been frequent since August. A security camp in Rafah was attacked two weeks ago by masked gunmen who opened fire on security forces. The army had to be deployed in the governorate to restore calm after gunmen killed three policemen and injured a Ministry of Interior inspector in two separate attacks.
