A hairdresser raped in toktok
ALEXANDRIA: Alexandria's Criminal Court punished Mohamed Abd Allah and Saad Mohamed Saad for the kidnapping and rape of a 22-year-old hairdresser, reported Al Gomhuria.The incident took place when the two men stopped the woman on her way back home and forced her at knifepoint to go with them in a toktok (a three-wheeler motorcycle with a cab for passengers). The toktok's driver was forced to drive them to an abandoned area where they raped the girl.
Fire breaks out during exam
TANTA: A fire broke out in eight outdoor tents where students from the Faculty of law in Tanta were taking their commercial law exam, reported Al-Masry Al-Youm.No fatalities were reported.The fire started 45 minutes before the exam time was up, with some sustaining injuries after fainting from smoke inhalation and as students rushed to exit the burning area. Authorities and emergency services arrived at the scene and quickly got the fire under control. The president and vice president of the university met with the dean and decided to have the students repeat their exam at a later date, which is yet to be determined. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Gas leak kills newlyweds on wedding night
CAIRO: A couple of was found dead in the bathroom of their apartment in Kerdassa because of a gas leak from the water heater on their wedding night, reported Al Gomhuria. The couple was identified as Essam Shabaan Hussein, an accountant, and Nemat Mohamed Selim, both 24 years old. Their relatives were coming in the morning to congratulate them when no one answered the door. They finally decided to break in, only to find the two bodies dead in the bathroom.
The victim is a dog
KAFR EL-SHEIKH: Eight were injured when a fight broke out in Al Shahbeya Village between the Megahed family and the Hamida family, reported Al Gomhuria.The fight erupted because one of the members of Megahed family shot the dog that belonged to a Hamida family member. Distraught over the dog s death, members of the two families used rocks, sticks and clubs to beat each other.
