Agogo scores on league debut as Zamalek beat Masri

CAIRO: Junior Agogo scored on his Egyptian League debut as Zamalek edged 2-1 past Masri on Sunday night in Cairo.
Tunisian defender Wissem El-Abdi headed Zamalek ahead as early as the first minute and Ashour Al-Adham equalized eight minutes later.
Ghanaian international Agogo missed the first two games in the league because of knee problems but looked sharp against the energetic Masri side and scored the winner in the second half.
He played alongside Abdel-Halim Ali as regular starter Gamal Hamza was left on the bench.
Zamalek now are placed second with seven points from three matches, level with Ismaili and two points behind leaders Petrojet.
Handed their first defeat of the season, Masri s tally froze on six points.
Mahmoud Samir, who joined Zamalek from Arab Contractors this summer, started for the first time and was substituted with Mohamed Abdullah after the first half.
El-Abdi scored an early opener when he beat his marker to touch a Mohamed Ibrahim's free-kick into the far angle. Masri equalized quickly through Al-Adham, whose powerful low shot touched the hand of Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdel-Monsef before flying into the net.
Masri could have taken the lead on several occasions as Zamalek's Hani Saied, Mahmoud Fathallah and El-Abdi made several obvious mistakes.
In the 26th minute, Masri had three scoring opportunities in one play, when Ahmed Osman failed to score in a one-on-one with Abdel-Monsef, who parried it before attempts from Ahmed Galal and Wagih Abdel-Azim went wide.
Shortly after, Galal rounded El-Abdi but his shot went over the bar.
Zamalek looked better after the restart and Agogo put his side in front after just seven minutes.
Abdullah penetrated the Masri defense on two occasions but his shots lacked accuracy
