CAIRO: Ittihad s talks with Ghanaian playmaker Awuley Quaye Junior to sign him in the January transfer window have fell through due to financial differences. Junior was close to signing for the Alexandria-based club after passing a medical test on Saturday. The gap between Ittihad s offer and Junior s demands is wide, the former Zamalek s man agent Mounir Hassan told FilGoal.com on Sunday. It remains to be seen whether Ittihad would be able to meet Junior s financial requirements. Ittihad are seeking to reinforce their squad before the closure of the transfer window in order to improve their league position. They currently lie eighth in the 16-team table. The club has recently signed two strikers: Ismaili s Amr Samir and Gaish s Hassan Mousa.
