Misr International Films holds simultaneous worldwide environmental film screening

CAIRO: In an attempt to raise environmental awareness, Misr International Films (Youssef Chahine and Co.) is holding the worldwide premier of a European environmental film next Wednesday.
Directors Johan Soderberg's, Michael Stenberg' and Linus Torell's The Planet, an 8 million euro budget film, features 29 experts analyzing the planet's status quo accompanied by visually stunning images. The film explores the latest relevant scientific findings that build up to the question of the future of the earth, especially with the rising hazards of global warming. The film is jointly produced by Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.
A question and answer session will be held following the 10 pm screening with the directors and a panel of experts. The session will be projected into all participating cinemas as a live IPTV broadcast (an Internet Protocol TV broadcast) from the Open University of the United Kingdom.
The Planet will be screened simultaneously and digitally in the UK, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, China, Australia and Egypt. A limited number of tickets are available now at Galaxy cinema (where the film is screened). The film is a wake-up call on the drastic issues earth s facing now.
