Synopsis: Attractive Annika and her mother run a dance school that her grandfather founded during the Second World War. One day she meets a tight-lipped electrician named Lasse. The reserved man soon confides in her that he was convicted and jailed for rape. Annika falls passionately in love with him despite the anonymous telephone calls she receives informing her that Lasse once brutally abused a woman, during his repeated explosions of fury.

Slowly she is taken apart by the reality around her and is forced to confront her own anger.

With immigrants desperate to work, the opportunities are considerable, particularly for two girls so in tune with these times.

Three Monkeys

Synopsis: A family dislocated when small failings blow up into extravagant lies battles against the odds to stay together by covering up the truth. Ceylan focuses his camera on four characters, a couple and their son plus the husband s boss, showing how the family opts to stick together by playing blind, deaf and dumb to problems that should in all logic split them apart.
