KUALA LUMPUR: Vietnam broke through to end Malaysia's 11-match home win streak in a tune up match ahead of this year's Suzuki Cup, which Malaysia is defending champions. Vietnam scored once in each half to pull off the upset. Le Cong Vinh netted the match's first goal in the 32nd minute and shortly after the break, Phan Thanh Hung saw the back of the net in the 48th minute. Vietnam was seeking to return the loss Malaysia handed them at the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup semi-finals in 2010, and did just that at Shah Alam Stadium on Tuesday evening. Malaysia hopes that the loss will give them the needed focus ahead of the Suzuki Cup, which they co-host with Thailand from November 24 through December 22. The defending champs will need to improve on their back line if they hope to repeat as champions.
