KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysia film director has called for personal attacks against him, the producer and cast of the film “Tanda Putera” to be ended, nad called on police to help end the threats. Pesona Pictures Managing Director and the film director, Datin Shuhaimi Baba said the threats have put pressure on the crew and cast of “Tanda Putera”. Lots of false allegations and unfounded claims were made by those who were not even fans of local films after the 90-second movie trailer was posted online. She said that some even went further to influence Malaysians to boycott the historical movie. “We have explained many times and reiterated that there is no character of a DAP leader in the film,” she told reporters here, Wednesday. The threats have raised concerns over the film's future, with many calling for the movie to be postponed in order to allow criticism and anger to subside.
