CAIRO: The Egyptian Business Association and the Egyptian-Italian Friendship and Cooperation Society have signed an agreement on Sunday aimed to support the development of investments and trade exchange between the two countries. Chairman of the Egyptian Business Association Hussein Sabour said in a speech he gave on the occasion, that Italy is the largest trading partner with Egypt in Europe and the second in the world after the United States of America. “We do not seek only to maintain this level of bilateral trade between the two countries only but we also seek to achieve a record level in trade exchange” he added. “Cooperation agreement, signed with the Egyptian-Italian Friendship and Cooperation Society, has involved all economic fields such as trade, tourism and exchange of experiences, expecting it to enhance the Egyptian economy in light of the ordeal it is going through now” Sabour pointed out. The former Italian Ambassador in Cairo, Antonio Badini, said the Italian government supports Egypt strongly by helping it to stand back on its feet and to get out of the current economic crisis. He also referred to the recent visit of Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti, during which, he stressed his country's support of Egypt during the transitional phase. “We will spare no efforts to enhance the quality of business between Egypt and Italy. Both countries are facing economic issues and we will co operate to solve these problems both in Italy and Egypt,” Antonino told Bikyamasr.com commenting on the news deal between Egypt and Italy.
