NEW DELHI: India's ruling Congress party spokesperson has obtained a provisional judicial gag order on the broadcast of a sex tape, which shows him allegedly having sex with a woman lawyer. A lawyer for Congress MP and party spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi in his petition has claimed that broadcasting of the tape would cause “irreparable injury is likely to be caused to the reputation and goodwill of Singhvi in case the defendants (media news channels) are not restrained.” Leading Indian television news channels Aaj Tak and Headlines Today have now been asked to respond to Singhvi's petition by May 21, by Delhi High Court justice Reva Khetrapal. While Singhvi claims that the tapes are ‘forged, concocted, morphed and fabricated', the footage which was first uploaded by an anonymous user on YouTube and later on Facebook and file sharing websites like Rapishare.com, shows a lawyer who bears pretty much an exact resemblance to Singhvi, speaking to a woman lawyer in a lawyer's chamber. Within a few minutes the woman kisses the lawyer, who later forces her into giving him a blowjob and then has missionary position sex with her before buttoning up. The footage is alleged to have been shot by a former driver of Singhi, named Mukesh Lal, who has now informed the court that a “dispute” between him and Singhvi had been amicably settled on Thursday. The tapes hit the Internet and went viral a day after their joint submission in court. Singhvi has been the face of the Congress party for several years now, articulating and defending the actions of the Congress party which heads the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in the Center.
