CAIRO: The chairman of the Egyptian Company for Airports, pilot Gad El Karim Nasr, announced that Egypt has witnessed during the past few days a boom in flights and the number of the tourists arriving in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Alexandria airports, where the flights increased by 160% compared to the same period of the previous year 2011. He explained that Sharm El Sheikh airport during the past period, received 36,000 passengers, while 32,000 others arrived in Hurghada, and 5000 in Alexandria, and the number of aircrafts landing in Sharm El Sheikh reached on Sunday alone 118 from different countries around the world. The head of the Egyptian Company for Airports, attributed this flow of aircraft and tourists to Easter Holidays and feasts, where services at Egyptian airports have increased, whether in the areas of security, maintenance, monitoring and operations.
