Cairo: Several local news reported quotes on Saturday, from sources in the Muslim Brotherhood's political wing, the Freedom and Justice Party, saying that the group decided to field its second presidential candidate into presidential elections, following the nomination of Khairat El Shater, as a precautionary step and in anticipation of Khairat Al-Shater's exclusion from the presidential race due to his legal status. The group nominated the chairman of the FJP party Dr. Mohammed Morsi, and said that he will submit his candidacy documents to the Highe Mohamed Morsy (center) speaks at a press conference. r Presidential Elections Committee on Sunday, as the Official Candidate of the FJP Party, after rumors about the illegality of Al- Shater. This decision comes a day after former Intelligence Chief Omar Suleiman announced his presidential bid on Friday. An Official statement by the party is expected later on Sunday to announce him. However, sources expected that Al Shater will continue his bid as an independent candidate, after collecting the required recommendations and signatures from Members of parliament required to support his nomination, according to the presidential elections law. Al Shater served out a prison term, after he was sentenced for seven years imprisonment under the rule of the ousted President Hosni Mubarak.
