San Francisco (dpa) – Apple has sold over 3 million iPads since the launching the latest version of its genre-defining tablet compute, the company said Monday. The device launched on Friday in 10 countries amid a worldwide swathe of media hype as the company's shares broke the 600 dollar mark for the first time and consolidated its status as the world's most valuable company. The new iPad launches in a further 25 countries this Friday. “The new iPad is a blockbuster with 3 million sold ― the strongest iPad launch yet,” said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Customers are loving the incredible new features of iPad, including the stunning Retina display, and we can't wait to get it into the hands of even more customers around the world this Friday.” BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/CTqgr Tags: Apple, iPad, Sales Section: Tech
