British journalists working for Iran's Press TV freed in Libya

Tehran (dpa) – Two British journalists working for Iran's English-language news network Press TV has been freed after being held since last month by a militia in Libya, the BBC reported Sunday, citing the British Foreign Office.
Reporter Nicholas Davies-Jones and cameraman Gareth Montgomery-Johnson had entered Libya illegally and were originally accused of spying.
They were detained February 22 by the Misrata Brigade in Tripoli and taken to a prison in the capital, Press TV said.
The brigade, one of the militias who had a hand in toppling leader Muammar Gaddafi last year, handed them over to the Libyan Interior Ministry Wednesday.
The ministry confirmed their release and said they would leave Libya Monday.
Press TV employs several foreign reporters and stringers as part of its international media network.
