MUMBAI: More than 200 people are missing in Bangladesh after a passenger ferry capsized in a local river, officials said on Tuesday. The passenger boat sank in Meghna River near Charjhapta, 60 kilometers south of Dhaka, after it collided with a cargo vessel, officer at Munshiganj district police officer said. District chief administrator Azizul Alam said rescuers retrieved four bodies from inside the sunken vessel. He said local residents informed him that about 40 passengers had managed to swim ashore. Police said they are plan to continue to search and are hopeful there will be survivors who have been able to stay afloat somehow.
