CAIRO: A Saudi banker told police that he had sex with a woman for nearly five years after luring her by magic, according Kabar, an Arabic language daily. The woman, also Saudi, confirmed to members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice that she had been having sexual relations with the man, and without knowing why. “She said that she used to go to him whenever he called her and that she was also transferring money to him from her account involuntarily,” the paper said, adding that the man is an assistant manager at a major bank in Riyadh. “When they searched her bag, they found a magic amulet which the man confessed to having concealed in her bag to keep the woman under his control … the amulet was destroyed and the magic spell was eliminated.” The paper said the man was arrested, though, the woman was released at once on the grounds that she had been under the spell of sorcery. Sorcery is punishable by death in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the preferred method of execution is public beheading by sword, followed by crucifixion.
