CAIRO: Coptic churches abroad have called on all Egyptian Copts, to cast their vote during the next presidential elections, in order to have a real role in the future political life. This comes after the low turn-out by Copts in the recent People`s Assembly and Shura Council elections. The leader of Coptic Christians in Germany appealed to Egyptians Copts to be keen on political participation and to sort out the documents needed for them to cast their vote abroad, in order to show unity and solidarity with the Copts living in Egypt, in Egypt's first Presidential elections post the January 25 revolution. While the leader of the Coptic church in France, said that Pope Shenouda III, stated that the elections are not only a national duty but also a religious duty, as every vote by Copts abroad would make a lot of differences to the fate of Egypt. The Coptic Church in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Greece, Switzerland, Portugal, Hungary and Britain, announced cooperation with their embassies to facilitate the vote.
