CAIRO: Two men, taking advantage of one of Saudi Arabia's worst sandstorms on Saturday, took a university student to the desert and drugged her before raping her, according the Arabic language daily Sabq. A 23 year-old girl told police she took a taxi when the university she attends advised students to leave early because of the sandstorm. Because of reduced visibility, the student could not tell she was being taken to a destination other than the one she had requested. “I later found myself in the desert and I begged the driver to take me home but he refused … he then phoned his friend who came and joined him,” she said. “They then gave me an injection by force after which I lost consciousness … when I woke up later, I found myself near a gas station.” Police said medical tests showed the girl had been drugged and raped. Man raped by five men According to the Arabic language daily, Ajel, a young Saudi man was gang raped under cover of the sandstorm. Five men, who tricked a 22 year-old Saudi student to a false date with a girl at a deserted place, gang raped the young man before robbing him. They tied him up and took turns raping him…when they finished, they stole his money, three mobiles, his watch and his ATM card. Police later arrested the five alleged rapists after finding the student's mobile phone with a Bangladeshi man, who showed police a receipt carrying the seller's name.
