Libreville, Gabon (dpa) – Cheick Diabate scored in both halves to give Mali a third place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-0 victory against a 10-man Ghana side on Saturday. In front of a disappointing crowd in Malabo, Diabate opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and added a second ten minutes from the end to give his side their first-ever third place finish after previously losing three play-off matches. The brace sees the Bordeaux striker join a several other players at the top of the scorer charts with three goals. Ghana's German-based defender Isaac Vorsah, who missed the Black Stars' opening two matches at the tournament, was sent off in the 64th minute for a second bookable offense. The tournament, which is being co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, ends with the final in Libreville on Sunday between Zambia and Ivory Coast.
