Flooding in South Africa and Mozambique has left hundreds of people homeless after heavy rains caused water to pour into areas of both countries. Officials in South Africa said that the flooding has seen a number of people seek refuge on rooftops and in tall trees. The South African government has also ordered an evacuation of the Kruger National Park in the northern part of the country. At least 150 people have been rescued via helicopter from submerged houses, reports from the affected areas have said. Another 60 young students were also saved from a local school that had been flooded. In the Mozambican capital Maputo, officials said the floods left hundreds homeless and caused extensive damage to property.
