CAIRO: Saboteurs from an Al-Qaeda affiliated group have bombed a gas pipeline just outside of the Egyptian town of Arish on Friday, according to reports from Egypt's Al-Ahram newspaper. The bombing is reported to have done little damage to the pipeline because gas was not flowing through it at the time of the bombing. Its use had been shutdown for repairs on damages sustained from a previous attack. Today's attack mark's the eighth pipeline attack since the ousting of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Several pipelines are being targeted because they transport natural gas to Israel. Israel receives nearly 40 percent of its natural gas from Egypt since signing the 1979 Camp David Peace Accord, which included a natural gas package. BM
