CAIRO: A military court announced today that Egyptian blogger Maikel Nabil Sanad will be called for retrial in another military court. Nabil is currently serving a three –year jail sentence for insulting the military in a blog entry from March of 2011. This sentencing has been revoked, according to the court statement. Nabil's lawyers and family have condemned the move, as the blogger moves into the 49th day of a prison hunger strike. The man did not attend today's court session, as his health is in a fragile condition, according to his lawyer. Nabil started a hunger strike on August 23 to protest the mistreatment he has received in prison and in Egypt's legal system. Observers of Nabil's hunger strike say that his health has deteriorated greatly, however the man refuses to end his strike. Today's court hearing is still in session.
