CAIRO: A 7-year-old Egyptian child tattled on his father's marijuana stash to police on Thursday, al-Youm al-Saba'a reported. The child allegedly told police on the Cairo-Ismailia desert road, “Mister, my dad has marijuana in the car.” The statement caused police to investigate and search the vehicle, leading to the man's arrest at the checkpoint. He was transferred to a New Cairo prosecutor's office, where he could face up to 25 years in jail according to Egypt's stiff drug laws. Marijuana use in Egypt is common, but hashish is the drug of choice for most Egyptians of all classes. BM
