DUBAI: Apple this week launched the Apple Online Store in four more countries, including the United Arab Emirates. Users living in Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and the UAE can now purchase Apple products from the company's website. The move has Dubai residents excited about not having to look elsewhere, or travel far, to purchase official Apple products at reasonable rates. “Too long have we been forced to go out of the country to get Apple products at appropriate rates because local distributors if they existed would push the price up on the black market,” said one resident who is hoping to get online and purchase a brand-new MacBook Pro as soon as possible. Apple does not have retail stores in any of the four countries, meaning this is the first time the countries' residents can purchase Apple products from Apple itself, without having to import them in. In all four Apple Online Stores, a variant of the above banner is present, which welcomes occupants of the four countries to the Web-based store. The addition of Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates means Apple now offers a version of its Apple Online Store in 37 countries. Apple officials also told Bikyamasr.com on Monday evening local time that they are looking to establish a retail store in Dubai “in the near future.” BM
