It was another pretty consistent week. Michigan showed it could possibly win the close game, and Notre Dame again revealed that it is far from returning to its glory years, losing for the second straight week. The only real surprise was Arizona State's victory over a struggling Missouri team 37-30 in overtime. Arizona State is not a bad team and could do some damage in the Pac-12, if it is able to stop people on defense. Sure, unranked Auburn defeated Mississippi State, but is that really an upset? Auburn is the defending champs and despite struggling mightily in their opening week, rebounded with a solid victory against the number 16 team in the country. It's really too early to be chalking that one up as a major upset. The top teams in the country all showed once again that they are bounds above the rest, demolishing their foes largely with ease. A close call in Columbus was about all the drama the top 20 showed us, so it it would be fair to say that we wait for week 3, when we do actually get some marquee match-ups for the first time all season. Top-ranked Oklahoma will play 5th-ranked Florida State on Saturday in the second battle of top 5 teams. FSU is looking to meet expectations for the first time in a decade, having pummeled its first two opponents. Last week it walked on the field and showed why observers believe in the Seminoles this year, winning with ease 62-10 over CSU. Now, on Saturday the ‘Noles hope to make the giant leap back into the elite of college football. It will be a showdown. Expect a fast game that pits some fun football teams against each other. In the battle of Ohio, the Buckeyes survived a major scare from lowly Toleda, stopping the final drive to escape with a 27-22 victory at home. This doesn't bode well for an Ohio State team struggling to overcome offseason entanglements that saw its coach resign and its top player move on to the NFL. It's obvious the defense is solid, but they just can't be on the field too long, so if the offense continues to sputter as it did against Toledo, it could be a very, very long season for Buckeye fans. Looking ahead, here are some games that should captivate fans and could potentially dramatically shift the BCS title race: On Thursday, check out #3 LSU when they take on #25 Mississippi State, who is looking to bounce back from the Auburn loss in a big way. On Friday, #4 Boise State gets Toledo, who after last week might not be the walkover as expected. Keep an eye on this one and see how the Broncos fare after a week of rest.
