CAIRO: Tens of Egyptian activists gathered in front of the Israeli embassy in Giza calling for the expulsion of the Israeli embassy from the country following Israeli attacks on Gaza and Egypt's border that claimed the lives of at least three security officers. The number of protesters increased throughout Friday afternoon and some reports put the number into the hundreds. Activists from different political groups, including the 6 of April movement, stood outside the building where the embassy is located, chanting anti-Israel slogans and demanding justice for the dead civilians and soldiers who lost their lives during the past two days after Israel attacked Gaza and fired at the Egyptian officials. Local reports said five were killed during the attacks on the Egyptian side, two of them were soldiers. While tens of others protested following the Friday prayer outside Omar Makram mosque chanting “down down with Israel” and “we are one with Gazans.” The protests followed a symbolic funeral prayer for the dead Egyptian soldiers killed by Israeli fire on Egypt's border on Thursday. In Assiut, in southern Egypt, tens of people chanted anti-Israeli slogans during the funeral of army officer Ahmed Abdel Qader, whose body was brought to his hometown for burial.
