With Nigeria already having implemented cloud computing, a model for enabling a convenient on-demand to a network access to a shared pool of infrastructure, Ghana is looking to follow their West African counterpart with its own implementation strategy. According to technology giant IPMC, in collaboration with American-based EMC, are looking to boost Ghana's infrastructure with a push toward cloud computing. The technology is also expected to be implemented throughout English-speaking countries in Africa. Amaar Deep S. Hari, IPMC Ghana's CEO said that in 2010, the company made $17 billion on returns via its investment and has a market value of $59 billion. Analysts in Nigeria, when speaking on the role cloud computing can have in Ghana, appear positive overall on the possibility of the new technology helping boost economies and create a better atmosphere for investment and technological advancement. Communications Minister Haruna Iddrisu said that “the government will not entertain the dumping of waste products from any developed country into the country.” He added that the government has already developed a $15 million deal with a Chinese credit facility to establish ICT centers across Ghana in order to boost ICT development in the country.
