In a statement, Eng. al Sunaidi said that the organization of the seminar on the ‘modern e-government‘ aims at activating the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said regarding the setting up of specialized departments for the service of the public. These services are built on proper bases and always listen to the demands by the public and follow up the complaints submitted by them and the services rendered to them. He added that today's meeting will take the sector to the next stage; activating the currently available technologies to facilitate the service of the public. This will be carried out with the participation of a number of houses of expertise who have practical applications in the field of modern e-government. He affirmed that the Sultanate now has good e-government technologies and has completed the governmental web and information security system. He pointed out that as per the recent statistics, there are 4 million mobile phone owners in the Sultanate who log into the internet. This means that there are many means for communications, especially by those who require the services at reduced prices. Salim Bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, ITA CEO delivered a speech where he said that the communication with individuals will be enhanced through the modern electronic solutions that provide interactive channels between the governmental institutions and the citizens and develop performance and services in a way that meets the actual needs of the society.
