Starcomm, a leading telecommunications company, has announced it has appointed two new people to top management positions in an effort to increase its standing in the telecommunications industry, a statement from the country said. Logan Pather, the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and David Ordman, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) have joined Starcomm, Nigeria's only publicly quoted telecom company on the Stock Exchange. The company began listing on the market in July, 2008. Panther has held management positions for the past 25 years in the telecom industry and has worked for a number of African companies. He is the former Managing Director of Roam-wave Africa and was responsible for 20 countries. Starcomm said Pather would bring “a wealth of experience to add to the fortunes” of the company. Ordman, an engineer by trade, is “armed with a wealth of experience of over 18 years in various sectors in the world.” According to the company statement, he is the former finance director for EMAAR of Saudi Arabia and “had the responsibility for all aspects of finance within the utilities and telecoms division of the company, delivering multi-utility solution within King Abdullah Economic city, a $2 billion mega project.
