WASHINGTON: Climate Action, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program, will showcase the latest green technology and services to an international audience of government officials and environmental professionals at the United Nations Environment Program's 2011 Global Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF) on the 21st – 24th February 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya. Held annually, the event is organized by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and brings together Environment Ministers and senior representatives from over 140 countries to consult and exchange ideas on the key environmental issues on a national and global level. The Green Technology Exhibition will feature innovative technologies (either currently in use or in development stages) that can assist governments and their populations in addressing global environmental concerns. These include: cost effective lighting solutions, environmentally friendly cooking apparatus for rural communities, water purification, sustainable biofuel production and energy saving lamps and LED solutions. For the organizations involved, this is a unique opportunity to present landmark technology and ideas to a key international audience of Environment Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, NGOs and civil society organizations gathering to consult on crucial environmental issues. These discussions are particularly valuable in the lead up to COP 17 in December 2011. BM
