The time has come! Everyone is aware that the World is at a time of transition and we cannot continue the way we are. Consuming, violence, greed and taking and taking without giving… There is emptiness internally. Human beings lost their spiritual strength. The collapse of social values and the absence of virtues are signs of this major transition that we find in Holy Scriptures. 2012 (The end of the Mayan calendar) is at our door. Predictions, past clairvoyants are back in our agenda.. As Kont Durkckheim says ‘We only seek the answers of three main questions in the depth of our consciousness. Being perished, meaninglessness and loneliness. And he adds that the answers to these three questions are; eternal trust, eternal faith and eternal safety. This builds the basis of all belief systems and philosophies ranged from Jean Paul Sartre’s existentialism to Freud’s psychoanalyses. Who am I really and why did I come here? We are now going towards the age in which we will find answers to all these questions. The ignorance and darkness of the past are ending. The acceleration of the pollution in our consciousness caused by the strengthening of negativity along with the climax of vices and human suffering are on the eve of embracing the sunshine of the new age. Then what is expecting us in the new age? What is going to happen in 2012? What does Golden Age mean? The Transition was born through these questions. Because we actually search our real identity in the chaotic challenges in life, financial crisis, nuclear weapons and peace processes etc. beneath the surface of struggles, we in fact question the reason for our existence. The Transition searched for the answers through the interviews we made with spiritual experts in India. The reversed balance in the present time always made me wonder what was going on in the World. Even unconsciously we knew that was not the way it should be. Nevertheless, I could never think about that one day I would make such a documentary film. Some said after they had watched it ‘What happened to you, what made you shoot it? ’ I was inspired to make the Transition while I was meditation in a retreat in London. The following process has come rapidly and incredibly. My Indian teacher who taught me mediation and the knowledge said ‘Ok! We are going to India then’ Here we go into a new adventure! My teacher, who never accepted me into the Temple in India thinking that I wasn’t ready spiritually, opened the doors of the center to me and my crew. I got sick in the process of founding the crew and arranging the equipment. My mother said that I should give up and that my health was more important. On the other hand, the spiritual organization prepared the substructure and the interviews in India. They were waiting for us in Ahmadabad –Mount Abu. How could I give up? And finally we were on the plane. I was writing down the questions I would ask in the interviews and I was very sure that the answers were all in India waiting for us. After we arrived in Ahmadabad, we drove up to Mount Abu which was 5 hours away. It was worthwhile to see the monkeys that accompanied us all along the way. We were first taken into the presence of Sister Jayanti, one of the senior directors of the organization. We promoted her the project. The interviews started the next morning. The time to wake up at the center is 4 A.M. After the collective meditation, there is a class. They read Murly which is a holy text according to their belief. The organization gave a piece of paper into my hand. They said’ we want you to ask these questions’. I looked at them. They were irrelative to my project. I realized that they didn’t want to explain the secrets of the genesis and the universe in front of the camera. I said ‘Sure, I will ask these’ I strewed my own questions in between. It was sometimes hard to get the answers. I almost hypnotized the person I interviewed with. I was warned though. They said ‘We want you to remove these parts from the movie’. I said ‘Sure, I will make it’ Particularly, they refused to talk on celibacy and destruction. The four quarters in the cycle of time were the most interesting part of the knowledge. The cycle opens in a Golden Age, a time of extreme purity. People lived very healthy and happy lives. Some would call it paradise. The residents built their houses with pure gold. It was still the land of happiness in the Silver Age but the purity of gold got polluted and the houses were built in silver due to the lack of pure gold. The Copper Age was the period of wars and cruelty. People forgot completely their real identity and thought that they were the bodies, the costumes they have taken on. That is why it was followed by the arrival of World religions. When Abraham, Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed came, they all gave the same common message that the real war was not the war outside but the war inside. The Iron Age in which we live in now is considered to be the land of sorrow. It is the climax of vices and human suffering. When I asked how many dimensions they experienced during their mediations, they all talked about three different Worlds. However, a shamanic therapist, a metaphysician and a healer that I questioned later would say’ There are unlimited parallel universes existing’ The spiritual experts from different parts of the World gave up their careers such as advertiser, judge, editor and physiologist and they survive a celibate life studying spirituality in the center. I asked them why they had chosen such a path. Some of them used to be atheists. And they all had very interesting background stories. The different words they used in describing reincarnation, God and the law of karma in fact made the same sense. I knew very well that they were not in the third dimension in which we live but in the 4th. I asked them hesitatingly how they perceived the further reality. The answers were all the same. They perceive the time in a different way. It is another state of consciousness and a different way of perception level. Eric Alexander, the metaphysician, in my interview with him in Istanbul, in consideration of the increasing figure of such people, would interpret the beginning of the 5th dimension which means Golden Age to him, by saying ‘ The World has already gone into the 4th dimension’ I was so excited when the day of my interview with Dadi janki arrived. It was my birthday. We tidied up ourselves carefully. Janki is the head of the organization who is 95 years old and who travels round the World to give conferences on spirituality. The interview was translated from Hindi into English. A powerful and a determined old woman raised his hands in gesture and said’ the old world is coming to an end. The land of sorrow is coming to an end!’ After the interview, she held my hand and walked with me outside. A bunch of people surrounded us. They were taking pictures. In the following days, I was stopped by people in the street who wanted to take pictures with me. Then I asked one of them.’ Why do you want to have a picture with me?’ He said’ Because you are the girl who was with Dadi Janki’ The good thing was that they all gave messages on nuclear arming, human rights and discrimination which made today it possible for the film to have a larger target audience. That is the reason why today the Transition is very interesting to non-spiritual people as well. On the other hand, my cinematographer was causing problems. I think he was shocked by the knowledge and the atmosphere in the temple. He said he was feeling guilty because he was Muslim and he wanted to leave. How could I tell him that we are here to tell the World that the core of all religions are one of the same thing and to contribute to end the discrimination on the basis of faith. Finally he walked away. My film was half done since he owned the equipment. I spent some more time in the center and then returned to Turkey. I added some more interviews to the project with a healer, a shamanic therapist and Eric Alexander who is a metaphysician. They were in Istanbul for their conferences. My interview with Eric was so interesting. He was quite confident and answered my questions without hesitating. He talked on teleportation which we can also find it in all scriptures. He said we would not use transportation vehicles but teleport our bodies which would be lighter due to clearing our pasts and energies in the new age. When I came to the States with a couple of interviews put together in a DVD, I screened it to my colleagues. They said the film was already done and I should go back and do my editing. When I entered the studio, I was amazed. The film was really done and maybe much more than I expected. It was time to write a text. I decided to focus on the cycle of time that opens in Golden Age and ends in Iron Age. I narrated it like a fairytale that begins with the souls coming down to earth for the very first time from the soul world and ends with their return home. I also added some technical information on quantum physics and modern science today. I aimed at indicating how the metaphysical belief systems and modern physics tell us the same thing. Albert Einstein was a unique example to explain it. I viewed my all interviews once again. Some were talking on destruction while others were saying that it was a time of transformation that was expected to happen in the World. Some said there were 3 different worlds while others said the number of dimensions was endless and countless. But which of the allegations were true? How could we limit this magnificent universe with numbers? The quantum physics say that we create our future every second. Then how could we believe in a terrifying end in the World? Of course we were going towards a transformation by changing our consciousness and the increase of those who are enlightened. Then how would this transition be realized? Despite it seems as a global and a social event, it would start on a personal level in consideration of the universal interaction. Didn’t they all repeat in the interviews the writing on the walls in the Temple like a slogan? ‘When we change, the World will change.’ Consequently, whatever the numbers are, everything constantly starts from the same beginning. So, the new age will be a re- found heaven. We had swum for a long time and finally reached the beach. A new World and a new civilization are coming! BM
