(Reuters) – Esperance coach Nabil Maaloul won't consider leaving his post after losing the African Champions League title, insisting that he is determined to lead the Tunisian giants for more glories in the future. "I will not leave my job with Esperance despite our recent loss in the Champions League final," Maaloul was quoted as saying by Reuters late on Monday. Egypt's Ahly lift their seventh Champions League title after claiming a deserved 2-1 victory over Esperance in an exciting final on Saturday. Defending champions Esperance were deemed favourites to retain their title after holding Ahly to a 1-1 draw in Alexandria at the final's first leg, but they were outplayed by the ruthless Cairo giants. "I would have considered departure if we won the title, but now I am sure that the club needs me," the 50-year-old tactician said. "Esperance need the support of its fans in the coming period to reach the coming African final for the fourth successive time," he added. After Saturday's match, Maaloul admitted that Ahly were worthy winners as they dominated the entire game, while his team was not in the best shape due to absences.
