A delegation from the National Council for Human Rights visited Tora Prison Hospital Saturday to investigate the detention conditions of former President Hosni Mubarak. Mubarak's lawyer Farid al-Deeb submitted a complaint to the NCHR, handwritten by Mubarak's son Gamal, demanding the intervention of the council to transfer his father from Tora Prison Hospital to a military hospital, saying the prison was inappropriate for his health setbacks and that the hospital had limited medical services. The delegation, which included Hafez Abu Seada, Youssef al-Qaeed, Nasser Amin, and Osama al-Ghazali Harb, inspected Tora Prison Hospital whether it was suitable for Mubarak's health condition. On 2 June, the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced Mubarak and former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly to 25 years in prison, the maximum possible sentence under Egyptian law, for doing nothing to stop the killing of peaceful protesters during the 25 January revolution.
