Hundreds of supporters of deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi staged a march in the coastal city of Alexandria on Sunday afternoon to demand Morsi's reinstatement. Protesters stopped in front of the stock exchange and the central bank headquarters on their way, chanting against defence minister Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi. Meanwhile, in Cairo, hundreds of supporters of the former president demonstrated in front of the defence ministry to press for his reinstatement and to reject the "coup" against Morsi, who was elected president in June 2012. Morsi was overthrown by the army on 3 July following nationwide protests demanding his resignation. Since then, Morsi supporters have continued to hold demonstrations in several cities in protest of the move.
