Huawei signs a MOU with Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education

Huawei, the leading global ICT solution provider, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Egypt's Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research (MOHE) on the side lines of GFHS 2019 to launch 100 authorized Information & Network academies.
The MOU will authorize public Universities to provide Huawei certification courses to students.
Huawei academies mission is to graduate 12,000 trainers and 4,000 HCIA certified and 350 HCIP certified by 2021. Huawei have faith that education is the key to support effective and sustainable growth and that knowledge will create new opportunities.
According to MOHE's MOU, Huawei will also provide the Agile POL all-optical campus solution based on the technology of Gigabyte Passive Optical Network (GPON) and Software Defined Networking (SDN) in the Technology University and private education building of New Cairo University.
During the signing ceremony Vincent Sun, Huawei Egypt CEO, stated "The strength of a nation comes from consistent focus on basic research. And the key of the basic research can be found high quality education. We should elevate teaching to be the greatest profession; A dream job for outstanding young people. We shall work together to let the brightest minds develop even brighter minds for the world which is yet to come".
MOHE and Huawei have also expressed their intention to enter into the joint-team arrangement whereby both parties will enter the ICT transformation design & development plan to digitalize the higher education in Egypt as per the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.
It is worth mentioning that Huawei ICT Academy is a partnership between Huawei and Academies around the world. Through this partnership, Academy delivers Huawei ICT technologies training, encourages students to get Huawei certification, and develops talents with practical skills for the ICT industry and the community. Huawei has developed a comprehensive range of ICT career certifications based on its industry leading technologies and global practices. The Huawei ICT Academy program includes the following certification category: Cloud Computing, Big Data, IoT and AI.
