El-Fateh: Egypt to be the Future Leader of IT

Karim El-Fateh, General Manager of Intel Egypt, affirmed that Egypt has he ability to have a role in the sector of communications and information technology amid the Middle East during the coming years, given that the number of internet users in Egypt reached is approaching the 30 million.
He added that Egypt can be a leader in the field of call center and BPO industry in the upcoming period as it has human capacity and a good communication network with the world.
Moreover, the Arab revolutions did not affect the sector of communications and information technology like the other sectors due to the fact that Egyptian people are aware of the importance of technology, he said, stressing that the current Ministry of Communications and Information Technology must follow the footsteps of the former ministries by continuing and developing what they started in addition to creating new ideas.
El-Fateh pointed out that Intel gives special attention to four main axes, including education, innovation, entrepreneurship, research and development, and infrastructure and always work on developing and updating them. He added that Intel cooperates with the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education.
He explained that Intel is waiting for Dr. Hany Mahmoud's meeting with foreign companies in order to infer his policy for the next period and set a plan for providing support to the sector.
