The Minister of Industry and Trade Tarek Qabil revealed that the biggest industrial complex for the supply industries of the engineering industries is currently being built in Beni Suef with total investments of 15 billion Egyptian pounds ($847 million). He made these remarks during the opening of the developmental projects, referring that the first phase of the project has already started . It will create 11,000 direct job opportunities. Qabil, announced that Beni Suef Governorate witnessed a huge spurt in Industry during the last period, adding that the government supported its industrial zone with 723 million Egyptian pounds. "Around 700,000 meters have been allocated for medium industries in New Beni Suef and New Assuit cities," Qabil added. The minister also referred that they have started the establishment of a building material industrial complex that would include 7 plants with total investments worth 6 billion Egyptian pounds. In addition, A factory to produce solar cells will be inaugurated soon in Qena with total investments of 370 million pounds. Qabil also referred to the memorandum of understanding that has been signed with a leading Singaporean company to establish an industrial city in Fayoum spanning over 33 million meter square.
