Egypt is carrying out two water desalination stations and one sewage plant in El-Dabaa city, 183.9 miles (295.9km) from Cairo on the north coast, said Housing Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Sunday. As for the first water desalination station, it is currently being executed at a capacity of 12,000 cubic metres per day as well as costs worth €6 million and 57 million Egyptian pounds ($3.2 million), First Deputy Minister of Housing Randa El Menshawy announced. "It is scheduled to start the plant operations at the beginning of next month," El Menshawy further added. Egypt's construction firm Arab Contractors is implementing the second water desalination station with a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres per day and costs of 65 million pounds, the Egyptian official stated, referring that it will be completed at the end of September 2018. As for the sewage plant, it is currently being executed by the county's Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) at a capacity of 15,000 cubic metres per day and a cost estimated at 460 million pounds, El Menshawy said. "The sewage plant will be completely established within next September," El Menshawy noted.
