MENA: Egypt's Sisi to visit Nicosia Monday for tripartite summit with Cyprus, Greece
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 18 - 11 - 2017

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is set to fly to Cyprus on Monday to participate in a tripartite summit between the two states and Greece.
State agency MENA said the upcoming summit would include talks on coordinating stances, as well as boosting cooperation between the three countries as regards politics, economics and trade, security, and tourism.
The meetings will also include discussions on regional issues, including the Syrian and Libyan crises, and combating terrorism and extremism.
The upcoming tripartite meeting will be the fifth such meeting between Sisi, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades, and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in recent years.
The first meeting was held in Cairo in November 2014, the second in Nicosia in April 2015 and the third in Athens in December 2015.
During the fourth tripartite summit in Cairo last year, the three countries agreed to work together to stop irregular migration, putting the issue as a priority.
The discussions also involved talks on energy, preserving the ecosystem in the Mediterranean, and activating maritime transport between the three countries.
In recent months, meeting between officials of the three countries have taken place in preparation for the November summit, the latest being a meeting between the three ministers in September on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
