Cairo's St. Peter and St. Paul Church declared on Wednesday that the death toll from the December bombing at the church has risen to 28 following the death of a 60-year-old woman injured in the blast. In a short statement on its official Facebook page, the Church announced that Loris Naguib passed away from her injuries at a Coptic hospital in Cairo Wednesday afternoon. A suicide bomber, identified as 22-year-old Egyptian national Mahmoud Shafiq Mohamed Mostafa, set off explosives in the women's section of the St. Peter and St. Paul church in Cairo in December, instantly killing 23 people, mostly women and children, and wounding over 40 others. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility of the attack, whereas the Egyptian Ministry of Interior accused members of the banned Muslim Brotherhood organisation residing in Qatar of plotting the bombing.
