Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 23 - 11 - 2016

The body of Egyptian top banker Nevine Lotfy, chief executive of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt (ADIB), was laid to rest Wednesday noon.
A long list of prominent banking officials and businessmen has attended the burial at Imam Shafi'I cemetery, including central bank deputy governor Gamal Negm, National Bank of Egypt chairman Hisham Okasha, and Banque du Caire chairman Mounir El Zahid.
Emirates NBD Egypt's managing director Sahar El Damati, Arab Investment Bank's chairman Hani Seif Al-Nasr, Suez Canal Bank chairman Tarek Kandil, Misr Iran Development Bank's managing director Amr Tantawi, and National Bank of Egypt's deputy chairman Mahmoud Montasser were also present.
Anis Aclimandos, President of American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham), Omar Mohanna, AmCham board member, and Wael Ziada, Executive Chairman of EFG Hermes Leasing, also highlighted list of dignitaries attending Lotfy's burial.
In addition, all the cadres and leaderships in Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank have attended the burial.
Lotfy, 64, was found murdered on Tuesday by multiple stabs wounds inside her villa in a gated compound in the October 6 city on the outskirts of Cairo.
She began her banking career with Citibank in March 1976 where she joined the Cairo office as a Financial Analyst. She graduated with a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo.
She had since gained extensive international experience in the US, Europe, and in emerging markets. Primary areas of her expertise were local corporate, small and medium-scale business management, credit risk, and capital management.
In 2008, Loutfy became the managing director and CEO of ADIB Egypt, as the first ever female head of an Islamic bank. She led the bank's transformation into a fully Sharia-compliant and a modern customer-orientated financial institution, according to ADIB website.
