Egypt's Commercial Service Office in Baghdad concluded signing export contracts worth US$12 million for the 65 Egyptian firms that took part in the 43rd session of the Baghdad International Fair.
Trade Minister Tarek Qabil stated Thursday that state's Commercial Service Office in Madrid also finished inking export contracts to supply Spanish markets with Egyptian marble. The total volume of the export contracts is estimated at €300,000, the minister noted.
Qabil asserted that the ministry provides all support for Egyptian firms to participate in international fairs so as to open new markets for Egyptian exports in different foreign markets through Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (EECA) and commercial services offices.
Head of Egyptian Commercial Service Office (ECS), Ahmed Antar added that those remarkable results are due to the great efforts exerted by commercial service offices to support the participation of Egyptian firms in different exhibitions and fairs.
About the Egyptian pavilion in Baghdad International Fair, the official noted that it is the largest pavilion in the fair since its space is estimated at around 468 square metres.
The Egyptian pavilion included different products notably leather products, antiques, gifts and products of Khan Al-Khalili souq, garments, food products, furniture, household appliances.
The participation of Egyptian business society in Baghdad International Fair emphasises on enhancing and deepening Iraqi-Egyptian ties in all sides and fields, Antar said.
On other side, Egyptian exports to Iraq reached around US$782 million in 2014 and US$470 in 2015 including engineering, electronic, chemicals products in addition to agricultural crops, fertilizers, and pharmaceuticals.
