CAPMAS to launch Egypt's first geoinformatics portal on Nov. 19

Egypt's state official statistics agency CAPMAS is organizing a workshop on November 19th to announce the launch of the country's first geoinformatics portal.
In cooperation with the World Food Programme, the CAPMAS will hold the event in Cairo.
The workshop will stress the importance of launching a geoinformatics portal and its role in supporting planning, follow-up actions, and decision-making processes in Egypt
It will also highlight Egypt's real digital capacities to the whole world to launch such a platform where official statistics and indicators can be released.
In the presence of its partners WFP – ESRI, the CAPMAS will prepare a demo version of the website to educate attendees on how to use it.
Egypt's Geoinformatics portal is the first and the only website to provide detailed maps of the state of Egypt to local and global mass media representatives totally free of charge.
