Egypt's exports of inorganic chemicals declined by 9 percent to 798.9 million Egyptian pounds (U$89.9 million) during the five months of 2016 versus 875 million pounds a year earlier. According to the latest report released by Egypt's Chemical Export Council (CEC) Sunday, ten firms seized 88.1 percent of the total volume with exports estimated at 703.8 million pounds. Alexandria Carbon Black company was the largest exporter of inorganic chemicals as its exports recorded 316.8 million pounds, getting 45 percent of total exports volume. TCI Sanmar- Trust Chemical Industries was the second largest exporter whose inorganic chemicals exports reached 119.3 million pounds in January-May 2016, followed by Abu Qir Fertilizers Company with exports estimated at 68.2 million pounds. The report stated that ten countries captured 79.4 percent of the total volume of Egypt's inorganic exports during the first five months of 2016. Turkey led the list of largest importer of Egyptian inorganic chemicals with imports worth 239.6 million pounds, followed by Spain whose imports reached 81.4 million pounds, then France with imports estimated at 68.3 million pounds, and Netherlands that got imports estimated at 45.5 million pounds.
