Swiss-Belhotel inks two new Egypt hotels
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 12 - 07 - 2016

Global hospitality management company Swiss-Belhotel International has signed agreements to manage two more Egyptian properties as it continues to grow its portfolio and presence in the Middle East region.
The move follows the company's expansion in Egypt with its first hotel announced recently at Arabian Travel Market 2016 bringing the total number of Swiss-Belhotel International flagged hotels to three in the country.
The development at Katameya, the extension of New Cairo, with two distinct brands, Swiss-Belhotel and Suites Asmarat & Swiss-Belresidences Asmarat, will feature a 250-room four-star hotel as well as managed residences with 400 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. It is on the Cairo governorate's eastern edge and is due to open in 2019.
The second development is at North Coast showcasing two brands once again, Swiss-Belresort Batter Sea & Swiss-Belresidences Batter Sea. It will be featuring 300 rooms and 1,000 units of one, two and three bedroom apartments. It is also slated to open in 2019.
Both properties are owned by Ebad El Rahman Real Estate Investment and Development, one of the most respected developers in Egypt.
"We have believed in the Egyptian hospitality market for many years and are positive about the efforts that the government is putting to uplift tourism there," said Swiss-Belhotel International chairman and president Gavin M. Faull.
"I am glad to be a part of the development of Ebad El Rahman Real Estate Investment and Development and we are looking forward to expanding our presence in the country and to introducing our unique blend of passion and professionalism in hospitality to this historical destination."
Ebad Al Rahman Real Estate Investment and Development Chairman Sayed Hanafy Taha added that the market was in need of a branded hotel and residential concepts that were well recognized and well managed.
"We believe Swiss-Belhotel International fits this requirement very well. They have an extensive and successful track record across multiple countries and with their exacting standards we are confident will be well received by the market," he said.
Noel Massoud, vice president operations and development of The Middle East said: "I am delighted to enter Egypt in such a big way. New Cairo and the North Coast are extremely important areas for any International chain to show its presence. And I am positive that Swiss-Belhotel International will bring something new to the market"
The project at Asmarat in Katameya, is located in the extension of what will serve as the new administrative and financial capital of Egypt once it is built. The mixed-use project will have nine F&B outlets, extensive conference facilities and retail options.
The Batter Sea project at North Coast is located on the south side to provide a state of the art community living and is highlighted by two gourmet restaurants.
Swiss-Belhotel International operates 135 hotels and resorts in Asia-Pacific destinations such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East and in Europe where it recently opened the Swiss-Belhotel Varna in Bulgaria.
