EGX Loses EGP 3.8 Bln; Closing

On Thursday's closing session, the EGX lost EGP 3.8 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 348.488 billion.
The main index, EGX30 sank 1.31% to close at 4890.3 p. EGX20 inched lower 1.91% to close at 5624.67 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 sagged 1.52% to close at 419.86 p. Price index EGX100 went down 0.89% to close at 771.1 p.
Traded volume reached 92.161 million securities worth EGP 373.367 million, exchanged through 22.356 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 179 listed securities; 154 declined and 17 advanced while 8 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 74.86% and 4.46% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 29.145 million and EGP 7.092 million, excluding the deals.
On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 20.68%, with a net equity of EGP 36.238 million, excluding the deals.
EGX's leading shares witnessed collective downwards led by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) which dived 3.38% to finish at EGP 3.14.
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) which dived 2.98% to close EGP 11.73. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) edged down 2.88% to conclude at EGP 1.35. Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) went down 1.35% to reach EGP 25.54.
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) was the EGX's top gainer went up 0.80% to conclude at EGP 275.90.
